VPN, Proxy and Data Centre IP Usage

Prohibited Trading Practices

Written by Oliver

We need to know where our traders connect from. Connection data is one of the tools we use to detect account sharing, prohibited copy trading between unconnected accounts, and access from restricted jurisdictions. Tools that deliberately obscure your true location interfere with those checks.

What may flag your account for automated security review:

  • Commercial VPNs: consumer VPN services of any provider.

  • Anonymous proxies: public or anonymising proxy servers.

  • Data centre IPs: trading from an address that resolves to hosting infrastructure rather than a consumer or business ISP.

  • VPS and remote desktop: set-ups that mask your true geographical location.

  • Control bypass: any configuration intended to circumvent network security controls or geographical restrictions.

What is allowed:

  • Trading from your home, office, or mobile connection = ALLOWED

  • Trading while travelling, from a normal consumer connection = ALLOWED

  • A mandatory corporate VPN, where you have notified support in advance = ALLOWED

  • A legitimate hosted or VPS trading set-up, disclosed to support before you begin trading = ALLOWED

If you have a genuine reason to use one of the connection types above, contact support before you start trading so your account can be noted. Disclosing it in advance avoids an unnecessary review; explaining it after a flag takes longer and may delay a payout.
