Sometimes a platform displays a price that is simply wrong: a frozen feed, a data spike, a stuck quote, or an incorrect weekend gap. These are technical failures, not market events. A price that never existed on the exchange cannot produce a legitimate profit.
What counts as a violation:
Manifest pricing errors: opening or closing a position at a displayed price clearly inconsistent with the real market.
Trading a malfunction: entering orders during a platform outage or degraded state in order to benefit from it.
Frozen feeds: placing orders while quotes are visibly not updating.
False gap quotes: trading erroneous weekend or session gap prices produced by a technical failure rather than by genuine market movement.
Continuing after discovery: trading against a mispricing once it has become apparent the platform is not showing accurate prices.
What IS allowed:
Trading a genuine session or weekend gap that occurred in the real market = ALLOWED
Being filled at an unexpected price and reporting it = ALLOWED
Trading through genuine high volatility, including fast markets and wide spreads = ALLOWED
Your responsibility:
If you notice a pricing error, a frozen feed, or anything suggesting the platform is not showing accurate market data, stop trading and report it. Reporting an error will never be held against you. Trading into it will.
