Evaluation Contract Limits

The maximum number of E-Mini contracts you may hold during the evaluation phase, and how micro contracts relate to the limit.

Written by Roland

During the Evaluation Phase, your account has a fixed maximum contract limit. This limit applies to your total open exposure at any given moment and cannot be exceeded under any circumstances.

Limits by Account Size

All limits refer to E-Mini contracts. One E-Mini is equivalent to 10 Micro contracts.

Mixed Positions

If you are trading a combination of E-Minis and Micros, the combined exposure must not exceed your account's E-Mini limit. Ten Micro contracts count as one E-Mini for the purpose of this calculation.

Example: On a $50,000 account, you may hold a maximum of 5 E-Minis or 50 Micros — or any combination that does not exceed the equivalent of 5 E-Minis total.

What Happens If You Exceed the Limit?

Exceeding your contract limit at any point during the evaluation is a rule violation and will result in the evaluation being failed. Your open position count is visible in real time within your trading platform and dashboard.

In Express and Live

Contract limits in the Express and Live phases are governed by the scaling plan, which allows your limits to grow as your profits increase. See [Contract Scaling Plan] for the full schedule.
